Does anyone know the history relating to the iron bridge that spans the river by the seven arches railway viaduct in the Charterhouse Fields? It stood for many years in the 50s as just a skeleton until it was given a new floor/roadbed at about the same time the Blue Coat School was built.

Hello & welcome to our history site, Mandj. Wave If no one can answer you on this, I will ask my grandchildren, both at Blue Coats to find out.

I know this thread is quite old, but there is a planning application on the Coventry Planning Portal (Footbridge planning application). Unfortunately there are no details on the application, assumedly as the original plans were never scanned onto the system. Smile
