Great picture of the brewery, but could you time travel and get me the before pic? Lol The other photo is taken from Little Park Street looking west towards Cheylesmore I think. Cow Lane would have been to the right. The link shows the area with a few remaining caravans and the factory at the back of the photo is on the right top quarter. Includes view in photo

I've looked at the Coventry pictures on Britain from Above and even though I've registered I can never get them as clear as that when I zoom in! How did you manage it Helen?

I didn't recognise any of the features in the photo, so it had to be part I haven't mapped. Easy LOL Lol . There were caravans on the stretch between Little and Much Park Street too, which explains the caption. I just looked for something that looked like the factory in the background towards the outer edges of those two streets. I really only know the very old streets. Some of the Britain From Above zoom better than others but the street level photos are essential. Initially I only looked at the pre war pics but there were a lot of survivors so now I've poured over every inch in every photo. Some of the buildings were easier to see because the surrounding ones were gone. Sometimes there's just one building in one photo that appears in no other. eg there's just one post war aerial photo of the front of the Squirrel pub on Little Park Street before they knocked it down and a couple of fuzzy ones that show it from the back pre war. Rumour has it that there's a news paper clipping of it somewhere but I've not found it. One thing I discovered is that you can get a tiny bit more quality if you zoom your viewer in using CTRL +, once you've zoomed as far as Britain From Above will let you.

Thanks to Roger Copeland - is this looking over to Much Park Street? I thought at first it may have been the Philips and Marriot Brewery building disappearing but possibly too far north for that? Dutchman? Edited by member, 7th Jul 2017 9:52 pm

LOL could be. Lol It's not in my era so if I ever knew then I've deleted it. I think it's on that block between Corporation Street and West Orchard.
