Hi all Wave Hi Helen. Thank you for such a title, but that's only because I am a regular breakfaster. I have experienced disappointments at most of the venues from time to time, even the Belgrade that served my friend up with a sausage that we think had spent three weeks on show with Punch & Judy. I'm at the Belgrade today for the convenience of Coventry shopping, but my favourites for a hearty breaky just now are all outside of Coventry - Nuneaton, Bedworth & Atherstone. Having a Coventry central venue is what most folks appreciate, our most regular is Wetherspoons, then Café Italia & Castle Grounds. I'm easy on anywhere. I suggested Café Italia when I did, simply because there are members who are not so fond of eating in pubs. So, are we saying this Saturday, around 9.30-10am. Somewhere central!!

Ok, 9:30 at the Castle Grounds unless someone objects. Little Park Street. A taster for you. After all that, It's looking like the History Centre might be shut, Angry Edited by member, 27th Apr 2017 4:08 pm

That looks like a very interesting model. It looks like something that could easily encourage students to take an interest. I use the term "students" loosely, so as to include anyone with a passion for local and social history. Good luck with your 'baby'.

Hi all Wave A small but cordial breaky meeting this morning, as we were all enthralled with Helen's "Coventry Model Project". A member & his wife joined us for the first time too. Brill! I cannot remember a meeting where there was so much real historical content discussed, much of which I am still piecing together. We were still there gone noon. It's easy to imagine that those of us that come to the breaky meets, are free of life's issues, but nothing could be further from the truth. Thank you to each who came, & a special thank to you Helen for driving all the way from Warrington. Wave

It was a fascinating session where everyone seemed to learn from everyone else. Helen's 'work in progress' is impressively well-researched and gives a great impression of what Coventry would have looked like in the mid-17th century.

Hi all Wave Owing to an outbreak of toadstools, my Wednesday morning bacon butty meet-up time has been brought forward to this morning, Tuesday. Wave There are even more this morning, I counted eighteen toadstools growing out of the mulch pulp. What a pip!

Hi all Wave It's so nice when things are just meant to be, as the change was this morning. A member & his wife popped their heads around the door of the Belgrade to say hello. They had travelled from up-north. Brill!

Philip, it was nice to see you again on Tuesday morning if only to say hello. Would you tell John from me it was more than nice to know that he still remembered me from last July when I popped in to say hello to you. NeilsYard, if you see this, I popped in the Town Wall Tavern twice while in Coventry this week to have a look at the place. I left the price of a pint behind the bar for you with a very nice lady that works there, she told me to tell you to ask about it, your name is on the bag it's in Cheers Hope you get it

Hi all Wave It's a good start to my Wednesday-extra volunteering, the first patient didn't turn up, so I am back home having missed a breakfast date with my favourite lady. Angry
