We've come to know Pam over the last few years, Anne, and she certainly is a lovely person - so too is 'Our Philip', and if any couple doesn't deserve this ongoing agony, it is this one. They are constantly in our thoughts and prayers.

My thoughts are with you Philip and my very good wishes go to your wife Pam in her fight for recovery. Tell her from me to keep up the fight no matter how hard. I myself am undergoing R-CHOP Chemotherapy at the moment, mine started December 27 at UHCW. I can only endorse and expand on the praise given to the Cancer unit there, they have been wonderful to me and I can see the light at the end of my tunnel. Praying for you Pam. #youwillbeatit #iwillbeatit

Hi all & to our friend Herberts lad in Exhall, Our very best wishes for you too. Pam has two separate breeds of cancer, which makes life very interesting for the Oncology team. The team could not even perform a biopsy in November, it was like porridge sticking to every part of her lower body organs. That is why her prognosis was so grim. So we live each day at a time, grateful for the passion to achieve by her consultant & working team in the Oncology department. At home we currently have a team of nutrition nurses who connect her to a night nutrition feed, then disconnect in the morning. Prior to last weekend, she also had her medication administered direct by mechanical syringes, but a slight improvement means that she is able to take what she needs orally.

Hi all, Wave a Pam update. Pam continues to progress, defying all the odds, when last November, her specialist oncology surgeon could not give her the light of Christmas Day. Chemo is a therapeutic drug, which not only attempts to deal with the cancer tumours, it tries to induce the natural body defence systems to stop arguing with themselves. At this point in time, her last Chemo bout was in March, her therapy has been successful on both counts. So much so that as of yesterday, she no longer needs any direct feeding, her tummy & bowel are handling food quite normally. Let's be clear, Pam still has life threatening cancer, which could rear its head at anytime in the future, just as it can with any of us. Most of us have a natural cancer count level of 35 (a medical measurement unit per blood sample) but it stays there as long as our body is keeping it at that level. So, Pam is now having physio exercises so as to kick-start & strengthen her out-of-action muscles, which is quite a tall order, for muscles that have been totally out of action for over seven months. Both Pam & I are in awe, of the love, care & throughts, that have been a sustaining pick-us-up that we have received. Love, thank you & best wishes from both of us.
