Can anyone recall the ruins that were there at this time and what they were actually of?

This one links in well to the image I posted earlier pre-Cathedral Lanes, only further to the left.

Great picture! Interesting in showing the small building that was in front of the library has sadly gone.

According to this article, Cathedral Lanes is now home to "the city's thriving new dining quarter" Cheers Even though nothing will change my view that it should never have been constructed in that position, it is excellent news that it now enjoys this success Sadly, my age and location suggest that I shall never be able to sample its delights, so I look forward to other commentators' reviews of some of the dining places Smile

We use Cathedral Lanes a lot now and tend to eat out in Coventry rather than travel elsewhere. In fact this weekend gone we went there twice! The restaurants there always seem busy and they've also made Broadgate much livelier at night. Looking forward to the rest of the work - which I believe involves improving the back of the building.
