I know it is a long shot, but has anyone any information about a journalist who used to write a weekly column under the non de plume 'Historian' for the Midland Daily Telegraph in the 1930s and probably other decades. Each week he used to list events which had happened in that week in previous years, he then selected a few happenings from the list to write an extended article. I believe he may have also written either the football or the rugby reports, using a different non de plume!!

Hello Harrier Walter Joseph Harris has a prominent place in Coventry City F.C's history from about 1920 to circa 1956 when he died. He features in a book I wrote covering the club's early history when they were known as Singers F.C. (1883 to 1898). As a journalist he provided a wealth of information regarding Singers and beyond. I cannot emphasise enough about Walter's important contribution to the recording of the club's early history and his contribution to local football in Coventry. I have quite a lot of information about him which I will share with you free of charge! I am intrigued to know why you have an interest in him. Are you a descendant?
