One for Neil here as you go in this pub or anyone else Smile Thumbs up Been looking through Pixrobin's photos and came across this photo. I walk past this a number of times when down in Coventry but I've never seen that crest or marking in the apex of the building. What does it stand for if anything? It looks like three "A" to me, it's a very old pub so I think it must stand for something

Morning all! I wonder if that marking is anything to do with masons or guilds? Sometimes marks were put onto buildings indicating the guild that the builders belonged to.

Hi dougie. I doubt that you'll get any Atkinsons beer as they don't exist anymore but you will get a fine pint of Bass in a pleasant atmosphere. Cheers Cheers

Judging by the number of references throughout the HCF to The Devonshire Arms, I wonder if this lady is familiar to any members?

The Butts Retreat has been open for weeks as "The Kamara Lounge" Amateur isn't the word really. We've not paid the same for an identical round twice and had a pint dropped on us. It won't last long if they don't pull their socks up. Always good for the amusement factor though..

It's probably a long shot to ask, but is there any way at all please that anyone might be able to tell me how I can find out how old this particular pub here is, which is located along the Foleshill Road next door to Foleshill Fire Station! The Pub is called the "THREE HORSE SHOES" and it's a place that I pop in to from time to time for a quick Coke or two. I was only in there again yesterday afternoon and on asking the landlord there if he might have any idea at all as to the age of the pub, he seemed to think it was about 100 years old, so obviously dating it to around 1917 time? Me personally would have said it was built around the early to mid 1930's, but out of curiosity, it would be great to find out exactly when it was built and I did tell the landlord that I'd do my best to hopefully find the answer for him? I have an old photograph of a tram travelling along the Foleshill Road in the late 1930's and much to my surprise, the "THREE HORSE SHOES" Pub can be seen in the background of the photo, so that dates it to being around 80 years old already!!!! Any help with this query would be very much appreciated and I thank you all in advance! Edited by member, 20th Aug 2017 8:59 pm

The Three Horseshoes has been there since 1861 according to RealAleRambles.co.uk. The current building looks more modern.
