Hello all, Can you tell me where these two photos were taken and what caused the damage? Enjoy trying to figure out the mystery. Steve.

Is it War Memorial Park? In one of the pavilions near to where a bomb destroyed a small building in WWII?

You're right about it being WW2 bomb damage, but it isn't in the Memorial Park.

Is that June 13 on the photo? Wasn't the National Provincial building from 1928?

Probably way, way out, but London Road cemetery? The first photo looks like a gravestone, and I believe it was damaged during the war. Paxton Memorial?

Hi Flapdoodle, Looks like 17th and then 1923 to me, but as my eyes are older than yours I will give you the benefit of the doubt. I hate being kept wondering. Roll eyes Wave

Well done Flapdoodle, it was indeed London Road cemetery. Here is the area where one bomb fell. The damage on the pillar is from the Joseph Paxton Memorial, which suffered a glancing blow probably from the fin of a bomb. Steve P.S. And well done Dreamtime it says the "17th June 1923"

Thanks... I enjoyed that little bit of research (I was supposed to be doing some work, but you know how easy it is to get sidetracked into something more interesting. :-) ) Dreamtime, my eyesight is terrible - short sighted and with some damage caused by contact lenses! Your old eyes are probably a lot better. Lol
