More nice pictures. After the long tailed tit the goldfinch is possibly my favourite common bird.

Hi Dreamtime, glad to share the pictures, a great hobby when you're unable to go out.

We've recently started to get visits from a large crow, who we've named "the upstart"! He's a clever so-n-so, who finds pieces of crusty bread, then dunks them in our bird-bath to soften them before eating. They're not daft these birds!

Upstart Crow, ha, ha. One of the few good series right now. If another turns up you could call it Corvid-19.

It indeed became quite a soup Dreamtime - and now it's attracted regular visits by pigeons, who enjoy the free meal that the crow created for them!

Ah, nice one Helen! Lol And I agree, Upstart Crow is a funny and intelligent series - funny enough for me to forgive David Mitchell's wooden acting! (And as a whispered aside, which convention doth state will not be heard by those around me, I think Mark Heap's Robert Greene is the real star! Wink )

Then yes, well if Rob reads the medieval city books, curse of the crow, or believes such, he would not have displayed that picture. Cheers Cheers

Taken from our patio rather than our window, I believe it's a long tailed shrike:
