I possibly more than most on here have spent time walking round your city in the evenings or first thing in the morning before people start work with staying overnight in the city centre, I can honestly say we've never seen any bother and we come down four times a year, we've always felt safe or I wouldn't do it (next visit December) so far Wink

For all the people that live too far away for a day trip like us (110 miles) I would like to tell you what we do and the cost is next to nothing Wink We book early and stay at the Premier Inn in the city centre for £29 per night in a family room, we eat at Wetherspoons for breakfast. & evening meal Cost about £10 each so total cost was only £147 for four days stay last week Thumbs up

Never heard of "Freemans Way" Dougie. It looks like the walking route along Warwick Road up towards the station. Where is it exactly? Is it the watch that's shaking Dougie, or you? Smile

Yes that bridge was always used but now it's a real pain trying to get anywhere on foot from the station-the route seems to change at a whim! I've started using the bus to Pool Meadow each week, it's a £1 but saves a lot of hassle..... Angry

I would like to upload these two photo's, first one the traffic on the left from the station trying to join the exit road from the ring road, next the grass mound on the new bridge that is shown on Dutchman's link. Is there anything unusual with that mound as I was told there is Blush (may upload a slideshow of my walk later) Edited by member, 29th May 2015 8:55 pm
