Hi all, Those with pre-conditions who are mobile connected are receiving specific text messages accordingly. Hope all ok & keeping well. I know of one friend who is recovering at home from Cov19. It's not an invisible virus.

Apparently so. Just heard it on the news. Wonder if moving the Queen to Windsor Castle was a precautionary move.

Since obeying the self isolation rule my house has never been so clean. I am getting bored already.

Well, Helen, I am not that bored. Don’t rush things, take your time, remember the sound advice you gave us a few posts ago about being careful when tackling these handy jobs, they will still be there in the morning!

Neither am I Wink I was an old trick by my dad if I ever complained about being bored. He gave me a long list of things that needed doing. Amazingly I was cured of boredom every time. Though the weather is perfect. Not too hot, not too cold, not piddling down. I've started the day with croissants and French butter. It's like I'm on holiday, give or take the jobs. The one I keep putting off is the tax. Those papers can have very sharp edges. Wink

There is an underlying pattern, but the web which bound individuals together was a much finer structure, woven of emotional and moral ties which were hard to articulate and which could comprehend through sympathy or empathy. It is by action, not motive, that characters are ultimately judged, responsibility to others and loyalty to particular principles (a belief in the importance of scientific research, for example). Now what Coventry schoolkid wrote that?

Tesco, good occasionally busy later Sainsbury's, moderate to good, rough in toilet roll aisle Asda, slight to moderate, heavy crowds by evening M&S and Co-op, fair Lidl, rough at first, easing later and that brings us to the end of the shopping forecast.

Total cases in: Coventry: 35 (25) Warwickshire: 74 (59) Solihull: 29 (19) Birmingham: 290 (228) Derbyshire: 139 (110) Derby: 58 (40) Staffordshire: 121 (97) Stoke-on-Trent: 16 (12) Leicester: 45 (32) Leicestershire: 98 (80) Walsall: 78 (60) Wolverhampton: 103 (98) Sandwell: 65 (50) Dudley: 60 (51) Worcestershire: 76 (55) Telford and Wrekin: 17 (12) Shropshire: 44 (33) Herefordshire: 21 (15) Gloucestershire: 64 (57) This data after Wednesday. Please be aware, my opinion only, but numbers are just that, a number. Also, this data is confirmed cases. Like an iceberg, most is beneath the water, so that figure could I believe be squared, without overstating the case.

Philip, It is reported that 50% of people infected show no symptoms and of the remainder 40% only mild symptoms, so only 10% are going into hospital and being tested. This means that the actual number of cases in the UK is nearer 100,000 than the 10,000 reported (and some people estimate 500,000 or higher). That means there are at least 5,000 people who can spread it without realising, and at least 500 of them are still going to work as key workers. The main problem is that the virus is "easier to catch than a corporation bus". Hence ‘Stay at home’ and ‘Social isolation’. If the Secretary of State for Health, the Minister for Health Protection and the Chief Medical Officer can catch it, what hope is there for the rest of us? We can't stay on lockdown for ever. A recession could kill as many people as the virus. Peter.
