Hi all Wave Quite apart from the religious celebrations, spring time is symbolic with freshness & a fresh start. I do have a faith, very weak sometimes, but in life sometimes there is little else. It is my wish that all of us on here, the team, members & families will enjoy our history forum even more as the year progresses. Wave Happy Easter for us all. Wave

Hi all Wave Some while ago I was listening to "Case notes" on Radio 4 one Thursday evening, when a dietary expert was in discussion with the programme's presenter Dr. Mark Porter. She stated that the problem with western diets has as much to do with what we don't eat rather than what we do eat. Food for though, hey! Wave Hope you have your Easter Eggs all lined up! Best wishes. Big grin

My mother always bought me a new straw Easter hat and we watched the old films on tele like Easter Parade, can't remember the others and I ate my easter eggs. Nothing exciting really.

I loved all the Easter things in Woolies, in Coventry, during that period. The eggs in baskets, egg cups, and of course, in boxes. All the chicks and bunnies were pretty, too. I have always loved Easter, it's less stressful than Christmas and it USUALLY heralds better weather! Right until the Woolies chain closed, I still loved looking at their Easter range. Much more sophisticated but still lovely. Easter Parade is one of my favourite films, Tilly! Funnily enough, I found the DVD of it in a charity shop the other day. To watch it requires Easter egg to munch and a quaff of red wine to drink! Oh my

My favourite memory of Easter was the fair on Hearsall Common. It was a big event back then unlike today when everyone can visit a theme park.
