It appears that they closed down a couple of years ago and all their assets were transferred to another society based in Bury, Lancashire. Full contact details are:-

The Coventry Assurance Society was one of the the old-style "burial clubs" where you paid something like a penny a week to accrue funds for a funeral. When looking through some old paperwork I found such a policy which my mother had taken out in the 1940's. Unfortunately, after contacting the above company I have found that the policy is "paid up" and has no value. But other people might have more luck! It's worth a try. |

If you Google the name you still get the Coventry address and (non working) telephone numbers. It was only after I found an on-line document from a firm of solicitors that mentioned the take-over, that I was able to find the above details. |
