Before and after the war the factory stood on the corner of Cox St and Ford St, opposite Wheatley St School and the Alexandra Cinema, it being badly damaged during the blitz.
In the mid 70s I restored a tractor which had a Coventry Victor engine, the firm were still in existence then, mainly supplying parts and service and were working from Humber Rd Industrial Estate.
The crankshaft was re-metalled by them for a pittance, Mr Weaver the grandson of the founder got the original dispatch book out and gave me all the information relevant to my engine.
Has anyone any more memories???? |

It was opposite the former Oscott warehouse, which I used to frequently visit in the nineties.
Nothing else - sorry! |

When I first left Wickman in 1984, I went to run a sub-contract company called J G Bush. Some of the parts they machined were for A N Weaver (Coventry Victor) Ltd. A N Weaver was formed in July 1971

I remember googling the name 3 or 4 years ago and they were still trading, selling mainly consumables and a few new old stock spares.
There has been on eBay recently the remains of an engine which was incomplete, I was sorely tempted but common sense prevailed ![]() |
