HIGH VIEW HOSPITAL in Hospital Lane was built in 1905 as a fever isolation hospital & was originally called Exhall Hospital.There are now 172 geriatric patients but it is due for closure in 1986.

The very last time I was at High View Hospital was to visit my dear gran in 1964 and was sorry to learn that once you enter High View you never come out. Sadly for us this was true, but she was able to see her gt. granddaughter for the last time.

At that time it was referred to as being in Exhall! |

The main body of the two planes that collided fell opposite the Royal Oak pub by Hospital Lane. Here is a link to the crash. |
