Then & now

Here's a more recent "Then and Now" item - the former YMCA building facing Butts (pictured in 2013) and the new Sherbourne House student accommodation, opened last year and photographed yesterday

I'm not in Coventry very often these days, but as luck would have it, over the holiday I was driving down Albany Rd, intending to turn left, when the lights suddenly turned red and I had to wait a few minutes. I noticed that new building opposite the lights and thought "they must have put that building up very quickly - it seems to have suddenly appeared from nowhere".

Midland Red stated: "Here's a more recent "Then and Now" item - the former YMCA building facing Butts (pictured in 2013)" I remember it after it was opened mid-1960's when it was the YWCA (Women's not Men's) and there are a few tales I could mention about the place!! Shame to see it gone, I've still got the memories though!

It's not gone, it's still there, behind the new building.
