Things you see (non-Cov)

I visited an old demolition friend of mine yesterday and noticed this nailed to his back garden gate. He has completely forgotten where he got it from. Has anyone seen one of these before and what does it signify? It is made of bronze or brass and is not distorted as my phone photo shows.

A quick Google suggests it's the name of a range of steam boilers from Babcock Wanson

Apparently it is becoming quite common for parish councils, local authorities, etc. to convert telephone kiosks into libraries. This in South Bar, Banbury, was slightly different as the original kiosk (left), which had been converted, was restored to a payphone and an additional kiosk obtained to be used as a library

Its good to see them used for something useful Midland Red. We spotted this one in Shipston on Stour being used as a cash machine as well as a phone

I don't know why, but, as with Lyme Regis a couple of years ago, whenever I'm near the sea, I see something that makes me think of NormK
