I don't know if she is still on and I don't really care. As for Bob Brolly, can't stand him either, although I know he does a lot of good work as I believe his brother is handicapped. My Irish neighbours love him and used to go on what I thought of as the Holiday from Hell, when they booked a whole floor of a hotel somewhere abroad together with Brolly and all his pals! Yuk !! Actually I do enjoy Network Gold on the 94.8 frequency on a Saturday night as, although mostly a Classic FM listener, I enjoy music from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s too. |

I must totally agree with Mr D-Di. Why Brolly is allowed to broadcast is one of the mysteries of life and its largely because of him that I never listen to Coventry radio. Brolly was once a singer in a group called New City Sound and I had the misfortune to hear him sing in the Bowling Green pub.
Bob Brolly's band was called Calvary and his dad ran the Bowling Green. |

I have found BBC C&W to be virtually unlistenable for a long time. The only time we bother with it is for commentary on City matches. Even the Friday phone-in has gone down the pan these days, especially with Linnell involved. I have heard some of the dreadful presenters on the station, such as Brolly and the Adudu woman and I have no idea who told them they were suitable for broadcasting.
Otherwise the only radio station we listen to, and that is quite a lot of listening, is Gold. It is now on DAB and has a minimum of natter and drivel, just lots of decent music from our era.
Agree with you on this Mr D. Great station, Gold.![]() |

Trish Adudu was recently crowned "Best Programme Presenter" at the internal BBC Local Radio Awards. Says it all really.
Ha! Ha! Wonder who was runner up. |

It doesn't have the obvious bias of the mainstream BBC output and is serving its purpose as a community station, helping local people with local issues.
There is also the bonus that none of the presenters are Jeremy Vine. |

Correct. His droning, funerial voice does not inspire. On the Eggheads, he wastes lots of time by interjecting, completely unnecessarily, all the time. His forte is stating the bleaking obvious, for example, before reading out every question, and bearing in mind that each round has a mere 3 questions: "get this wrong and you've lost the round!". As if nobody understands that 3 is bigger than 2 or 1 - infant school stuff.
And I cringe when it goes to sudden death: "I don't give you alternatives [sic]". Sometimes he gets it right and uses the word options.
