You forgot Progressive Deliveries with their distinctive sky blue livery. 
One of their lorries famously had no starter so the driver always had to park it on a hill.
Another was a triple-decker used for the Glasgow run.

Do you remember Pointers, they were hauliers/removal company from Cook St. They also took in theatricals from the Hippodrome. I know they eventually moved to Tile Hill Lane. Question |

My stepdad Gerald Owens drove for all the above companies between mid 50s-80s plus all the coach companies previously mentioned. The triple decker was one of his routes at one time. He was also one of the first drivers to drive loads to Europe.

They had some sort of contract to racecourses - if there was under a score of people they were the only firm to operate. We had a regular driver (Harry?), everyone connected to racing knew him, and he knew every road in and out to all courses. A great guy and well liked. |
