It says the photo was created 1st Jan 1941, so I would say that was when the photos taken were catalogued - so I think you are spot on Anne ![]() |

Just to confirm how spot on you are, here's a photo that our Steve took of that very part of the Council House, in Hay Lane, back in 2011.

It also has cobbles and a tram line. None of the images I have of the possible location have exactly the same street furniture but that could be just the wide range in dates between the images. |
