JW, how brilliant, your friend must have had a wonderful sense of humour, what better music after her departure. I will have to think really hard to top that.
I wonder if "Always look on the bright side" would work? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() True Blue Coventry Kid ![]() |

I can see you are giving this topic a great deal of thought. I am hoping to be around a few more years yet but when it's time for making plans I will have to draw from the barrel. Whatever, it had better be lively! With due respect I don't like gloomy funerals.
Just to reflect my husband's humour, he always said we should play Ray Stevens' "The Streak" at his funeral, but I didn't - at the time I didn't think it was appropriate but his mates said I should have respected his wishes. No doubt he will have me over the coals for that!

I've already been to Two Funerals where "Always look on the bright side of life" has been played at the end, (one this year in fact). Another, (again this year), played "Ying Tong, Ying Tong, Niddle I po" as the Congregation left the Service ! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

'No chance, no, something a bit closer to home, and more appropriate'.
'You mean Tom Jones's 'Green Green Grass of Home'.
'No, the other one - Humperdinck's 'Please release me'. ![]() |

I did 24 parachute descents when they were meant to get you on the ground in a hurry, yet I have never broken one bone in my body ever, neither have I ever had an operation. But this last year I've been in a lot of pain - the doc said "We can do a small operation, take away 80% of the pain but at your age???"
Me, "What's the odds."
He, hands held high, "Who knows, fifty-fifty?"
Me, "Perhaps I should read Chandler's 'The Big Sleep' again". |
