Vulcan bomber

Just to bring this great Aircraft back to the news while she is still flying. Saw her three times this afternoon while playing golf in Torksey Lincolnshire (Plus 3 Hawks and 5 Tornados -so I`m told) Presumably attending the Bomber Command memorial unveiling

Just heard on local TV news that the public have been requested not to attend final flight next weekend for "safety reasons", apparently the flight could be cancelled if they come. Sounds like "bureacracy gone mad" to me.

I see that the Vulcan is following instructions from "Status Quo's big book of Farewell Tours" This coming weekend was originally supposed to be the last hoorah, with a northern tour on Saturday and a southern tour on Sunday, these being the final outings Now, however: PLEASE NOTE: ** We intend at least two more flights in late October. ** ** This weekend will not see XH558’s final landing. ** This weekend's routes are available here, and the nearest to Coventry will be the flight on Sunday between Wellesbourne and Bruntingthorpe

How about renaming it "Frank Sinatra"

Would you believe it .... the Vulcan flew over our house at about 300 feet about 20 mins ago. We live in Bedfordshire.

If the allegations are true... It was rather 'naughty', but who was at the controls? I understand that Martin Withers is still a commercial pilot, would he do such a thing? This might get interesting

Just finished watching the recording of this fabulous programme. Magnificently presented, great photography and lots of history and information in this hour and a half programme about the old bird. If you missed it I'd strongly recommend seeing it on "All 4" (Channel 4's catchup service)
