As a shift worker I occasionally find myself in 'town' at varying times and whenever possible between chores try to explore any remaining secret spots of our great old town.
Thought it might be idea for us all to post here any recommended hidden gems of Coventry to visit that are otherwise passed by by everyday modern life.
I did recently find myself wandering around London Road cemetery visiting my grandparents' and great grandparents' graves and also drove through (and was greatly saddened by) what was the Highfield Road stadium.
I'm going to walk through the Chain Gardens path as Dutchman mentioned in a recent post (and my Mum confirmed as she worked at Renolds!) and also strolled through Nauls Mill Park whilst waiting for my eldest at Bablake.
Are there any old city centre tours held? Hang on maybe, a Forum members walk and pint might be in order??!
Post your places to spot here.

One little gem of a place that I don't think I've featured on my website is St. Catherine's Well, in Beaumont Crescent, Coundon. It's well (!) off the beaten track, so not 'discovered' by anyone looking for our usual town centre history. But it's written that this well was once the source of water for Spon End. This Street View link should take you there...

I'll admit that the dark, the cold and the potential for rain put me off this morning ![]() |
