Edith Brown's parents

Hi. I have looked high and low for her parents and are unable to find them. She married Eric G Dalton around 1929 and they had a baby boy who was born and buried in 1929. Any information would be great, thanx.

Hi Renee Edith F Brown married Eric G Dalton 3rd quarter 1929 ref 6d 2101. You could send for the marriage certificate which would tell you her father's name and where she was living at the time. You can order certificates from www.gro.gov.uk. I am pretty sure they will send certificates abroad. Hope that helps.

There is a confusing dialogue about this couple here, though I've just noticed you were the original poster Renee. If Edith F was born in 1904, you could also find her parents in the 1911 census. Edited by member, 7th May 2015 1:20 pm

Perhaps the Brown Family History thread on this forum may be of help, Renee. I believe this is the same Brown family as your own. I agree strongly with Annewiggy that obtaining the marriage certificate of Edith F. Brown and Eric Dalton may be the most helpful step you can take at this point. Using FreeBMD, I discovered that there were two children born in Coventry surnamed Dalton with the mother's maiden name as Brown soon after 1929. The first was Jean P Dalton - birth registered in 1Q 1930 (6d 1007) and the second Mollie E Dalton - birth registered in 4Q 1930 (6d 1087). Jean P Dalton married Stuart R Ferries in Coventry 2Q 1947 (9c 1775) and Mollie E Dalton married Alan Hindhaugh in 3Q 1950 (9c 2080). Might these be connected?

Thank you for the information. I will be looking into this, since Edith's child was buried with my great grandmother. Will definitely get her marriage certificate and my great grandmother's death certificate.
