All too easily! Big grin MR - too late. The day job was boring. I never had time to become a history miner. I'm only a comedian on high days and holidays. Lol

See you on the ice Helen. Preferably with just a dash of tonic. Have a lovely Christmas everyone and as my Mum used to say "Steady past your grandma's"

Thank you Dreamtime - nice to see the first Christmas wishes of this year! Likewise, I wish every member and their families a fantastic Christmas, and let's hope the New Year begins to bring us hope for a brighter, more "normal" future! Cheers

Well my Christmas just went south... or more precisely isn't going south to visit my sister who is now in tier 4. Sad However I can live with Christmas postponed and intend to do the full thing on my own. Mum always told me to have the makings of a Christmas in, just in case I got snowed in. No snow but I'm now off to buy me some (more) presents. They might arrive a bit late but some nice person will wrap them for me at the other end. Smile

Ever since I was a kid I've loved Christmas Eve more than Christmas Day. There's a moment for me, albeit so so briefly, the world, or the world I'm living in, falls silent and is at peace with itself. I wish you all a very very Merry Christmas, may all your dreams come true. Edited by member, 22nd Dec 2020 7:37 pm

Hi everyone, I just wanted to take the chance to reflect on all the help I've received from fellow forum members this year - it's greatly appreciated. I'm sure I speak for many others when I say this forum is quite amazing - it pulls people together from all walks of life, and from so many locations, all with so many fantastic memories of Coventry! Furthermore, with 2020 being the year it's been, I'm sure it has provided us all with a place we can go and share those memories, share those experiences, and help tell a story from our own perspectives. I continue to be fascinated with Coventry's history, and in awe of those of you who seem so knowledgeable about it and yet so equally generous with their willingness to share that knowledge! Merry Christmas to you all - keep safe, do the right thing, and let's look forward to a brighter New Year! Oddsock. Wave
