It was known as the Shelton Square branch.
It was definitely opposite one of the outside stalls of the circular market, & was accessed up a flight of concrete steps.
The steps were off one of the covered ways from Shelton Square to the market, somewhere near Woolies.

Does anyone happen to have any photographs of that area back then? If so, I can offer a small cash payment for any photographs. I'm absolutely nutty about nostalgia you see!
What actually happened to that area? Did they demolish it and build Greyfriars walk there or something? I just cannot quite remember how it looked at all.
