I hope this hasn't been asked a gazillion times before! I have used the forum's search facility but without success. Could anyone tell me where I might be able to look at the Coventry Register of Electors for around 1950? Grateful for all advice. H

Midland Red The day we met, on a Monday, I went over to the History Centre, and it was closed for the day, so people should be aware.

Opens Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning, but well worth a phone call to check. All part of the councils cuts, sadly.

Now that is interesting. I have been trying to find the pre WWII electoral register for Dordon in North Warwickshire and all I have managed to do is go round in circles. I have tried Warwick, Nuneaton, Atherstone, Tamworth, Polesworth and all I get from each is to go to one of the others!!!! So any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Have you tried this alternative. (this seems to indicate it's in Atherstone registration district).

Thanks all. I'll visit Coventry in the next couple of weeks and call in at the History Centre. The link given by McSporran looks great - found the street but unfortunately, the house number I'm looking for isn't listed. Tom
