I was there twice - 1955 and again in 1963. The same bloke was in charge both times I was there - a Mr Langley. I was 3 years old when I was first there and 10 when I was there again. In between, I had spent years in a convent in Birmingham. After I was at the Grange for the second period, I was then "intered" at Roxborough House on Holyhead Road. At first it was a mixed home, but after a couple of years that I was there, they (social services) made it an all boys care home. I could mention some names I remember but don't want to intrude in others lives as they might not want their family history on here, so I'll wait to see if anyone adds anything.... |
