About 6 months ago the above badge was advertised for sale on eBay. Despite searches at the Coventry archives, newspapers on line, I found no information. Is ‘C.G.C.’ Coventry Godiva Cycling?? Chess?? I suspected it was the Coventry Godiva Harriers Cycling section but have searched through all their minutes and there is no reference. I searched the Godiva Path and Road Club - again nothing. (The Godiva Path and Road Club was the cycling club formed from the Godiva Harrier Club when the national athletic and the national cycling authorities fell out and Harriers Clubs could no longer have cycling sections.) About a month ago a similar badge appeared on eBay but with a blue rim and date of 1950, The number stamped much more neatly on the back was 256. This I bought still thinking it had some Coventry Godiva Harriers connection. Has anyone any ideas what organisation the badge is associated with?? Many thanks.
