Sadly, the building I was referring to does not seem to appear on this list. The company I worked for hired this building to put on an exhibition for two or three weeks and I was involved in putting it together. The building was empty before and after that and was eventually demolished to make way for Sainsburys. |

Woolies were the first place that started to sell tights. They weren’t very pretty, either pink or blue nylon pants with legs attached. Soon though you could get all sorts of tights. Do you remember a little shop in the side of BHS facing Woolies that just sold loads of different sorts of tights? |

I remember Fare Value, one of the first self service grocers (supermarket to today's generation!). Sainsburys opened up in the city centre fairly soon after. Faines (?) was a stationer nearly opposite Blue Chain.
