
Dougie from Wigan All posts by this member | 1 of 6 Thu 9th Feb 2012 10:12pm Member: Joined Dec 2010 Total posts:239 I know Rob & Dutchman maybe able to put my mind at rest about the Cross of Nails I saw in 1962 it was standing where the wooden cross stands today in the old Cathedral, someone had gathered all the roof nails and welded them together to make a big cross but the only cross of nails I can find anything about is the small one made out of three roof nails,
Did anyone ever see this cross in the 60s or better still has anyone got a photo of it or am I dreaming ![]() |

A replica of the wooden cross now stands in the old cathedral ruins, and the original is kept on the stairs linking the Cathedral with St. Michael's Hall. The "three nails" cross now rests on the altar in the new cathedral.

In the rebuilt Frauenkirche (the equivalent of St Paul's to Dresden)
a Coventry Cross of Nails is on the Altar, and on You Tube a shortened version of the Consecration of the Church shows the Cross of Nails being placed there. |
