Hartopp Family

Hi, Wondering if anyone could help me I am looking for information on the Hartopp family that included Ronald Arthur Hartopp, born 1932

I do not know of any Hartopps in Coventry but I did meet a couple of that name who lived in Swithland, Leics near to Bradgate Park. Edited by member, 18th Jun 2019 5:27 pm

There are 92 with the name Hartopp in the London Road Cemetery, but none called Ronald Arthur Hartopp.

I have found quite a few instances of him being mentioned in the papers around the 50s etc - always in trouble from what it seems There were some Hartopps in the 1840s from a search in the Aldermans Green area, just not sure if they link up to mine

Hi, there is a tree on Ancestry that gives the following ; Ronald Arthur Hartopp born July 1932 Cov. Father Arthur Hartopp. Mother Hannah Griffin. Spouse Anne Ryan (died 19 Jan 1969). Sister Doreen born 1933. The tree is called "Meah Family Tree"

I attended Foxford School 1962-1967 and was in Mars house. There was a girl named Avis Hartopp also in Mars at that time

Thank you for this. That is for sure the correct family you have found, the Meah family is Ronald's daughters married name. I must not be able to see the tree as I only have the free version of Ancestry, so thank you for the information.

Helen, I think you need Find My Past for the newspapers rather than Ancestry

I've a feeling that the actor Jeffrey Holland, who was in Rep at the Belgrade during the late 60s, married Eleanor Hartopp. Could be my imagination though.

I knew a Len Hartopp who worked at Coventry Gauge & Tool, now Matrix, in the 1960's. Don't know if he was the same family though.
