My mate used to live in Pinners Croft and I used the Heath to repair my car on (Ford Pop). Didn't drink much but fancied one after working on the car and bought my first pint in the Barras when I was 17, 1965. Also the Morris common which I used to run round between 2-4 times in training for cross country runs for Freddie's. It is the only common I know up there that is why I asked for where it was situated. ![]() |

I have always understood that it got that name from its popularity with the Bolsheviks (which later became the communist party I believe) that used to meet there to discuss their politics. ![]() Alan |
