The only one I can remember was Peter Flavell who was a good footballer, he married a girl from Tackford Road who lived opposite my grandparents, her name was Pat. |

I shall be driving past it on the way to my mum's on Pearson Avenue this afternoon.
Sorry, I know nothing of either family as I only lived there from '56! |

They used to deliver using a horse drawn "float". My father looked after the horse as well as worked in the shop. He used to talk about Eddie but I am unclear whether as his boss or compatriot Roger Burdett |

Flavell, at school at St Laurence's C of E School and in his WW1 uniform. David lived at 80 Old Church Rd and was a butcher and joined the Royal Warks Regiment and was killed at the age of 20 years old. He is recorded along with his Brother William Colin [known as Colin] in St Laurence Church, although the memorial is incorrect as Colin fought in the Grenadier Guards. I was named after David.

I think it was a little more than that. We all had brothers and sisters, we were all taken to school at 3/4 years old to meet them, it was no big deal in those days. At first I thought it was a funeral with flowers on the 2nd cart, but the gent has not raised his cap, that didn't happen in those days. It’s more like a May Day parade or such to me.
But note the boys school collars, they had gone by 1920 and the boy with the fob watch, now that is a cracker. Love it, thanks. |

We remember it well. |
