Hi Lorraine Welcome to Historic Coventry. What an interesting story, those DNA tests are answering questions and creating new ones. I'm afraid Lyngood hasn't logged in recently but it's possible to view topic without doing so. Maybe Lyngood looks in from time to time. There may be others who see your posts and reply but it may take a while. The contact button lets you leave a message in a site inbox for the member. People can set their mail to divert to their personal email or to receive no contacts at all. I believe that the default is inbox only, so if you want to be alerted to messages, you need to select the right option in your profile. Email senders won't see your personal email so long as you use the site email system to reply. Hope you get the responses you're looking for.

Hi, thanks for add to this site. My mum was 'sent' to (Coventry) St Faiths Shelter back in 1970 from Oxfordshire. I was born the same day she arrived, probably due to stress, and was fostered locally by a couple in Styvechale before being adopted. After a much searching over numerous years, and help from Social Services, I managed to find my birth mother 11 years ago. I have my original birth records and adoption letters etc. many written to/from Miss Paton at St Faiths so it's been a bit surreal to actually see a photo of who this lady was.
