I did see Anne reference they were originally occupiers of the Martins Bank building at one point.

Next door but one to the Georgian side of The Castle on the left. The 'one' started as a driveway for The Castle building, then had a two storey fill in which was finally raised to three storeys. The building in the photo was also much older than the photo suggests. |

When we came to buy our house in Abingdon it was plot number 508 in August 1969 and the building work was finished ready to move into in April 1970 with a mortgage from the Coventry Economic. We have had a branch in Abingdon for at least 50 years and still save with them. Also we still live in our very first home. |
